YONKERS, NY ~ Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano has announced the appointment of Hope Hollinsworth-Coaxum as the new Director of the Office of Constituent Services and Minority Affairs. With a strong background in community engagement and public service, Hollinsworth-Coaxum will begin her new role immediately, replacing retiring Director Michael Sabatino.

Mayor Spano expressed his confidence in Hollinsworth-Coaxum, stating, "Hope brings a wealth of experience in public service and community leadership to this important position." He also highlighted her dedication to fostering positive relationships and ensuring that all Yonkers residents' voices are heard. The Mayor also took the opportunity to thank Sabatino for his years of dedicated service to the City of Yonkers, wishing him well in his retirement.

Hollinsworth-Coaxum is no stranger to the City's government, having previously served as Special Assistant to the Mayor in the Office of Constituent Services and Minority Affairs. In this role, she spearheaded various community initiatives such as the Mayor's Thanksgiving Care Drive, Toy & Coat Drive, Women of Distinction Awards, and Black History Celebration.

In her statement on her new appointment, Director Hollinsworth-Coaxum expressed her honor at serving under Mayor Spano's leadership. She acknowledged Yonkers' potential as a city and pledged to work closely with residents, community-based organizations, and government agencies to address their diverse needs. Aside from her work with the City government, Hollinsworth-Coaxum is also actively involved in various boards and committees. She serves on the Yonkers Community Action Program Board, Yonkers Parking Authority Board, Westchester County Veterans Services Board. Additionally, she acts as a liaison for Mayor Spano at 2nd Precinct Community Council meetings for the Yonkers Police Department and Yonkers My Brother's Keeper, strengthening the relationship between the City and its residents. Her dedication to serving her community is further evident in her role as President of the Gold Star Mother Yonkers Chapter. Hollinsworth-Coaxum holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Pace University.

With her extensive experience and commitment to public service, Director Hollinsworth-Coaxum is poised to make a positive impact on the City of Yonkers and its residents. Mayor Spano's appointment has been met with enthusiasm, and many are looking forward to seeing the positive changes she will bring to the Office of Constituent Services and Minority Affairs.
