~ On August 24, 2023, the Yonkers Police Department responded to a report of multiple slashings in the area of 1 Palisade Avenue. After reviewing surveillance camera footage, Detectives and Crime Analysts were able to obtain a description of the suspect. Units responding to the scene located and apprehended 35-year-old Eric ALI, a Yonkers resident. A broken pair of scissors used in the assault was found on his person and was recovered as evidence.
Two victims were located at the scene with lacerations: a 41-year-old male with a laceration to the left side of his head and a 61-year-old male with a laceration to the left side of his face and lip. Both victims were transported to area hospitals and are in stable condition. A third victim, a 35-year-old male with a laceration to the right side of his head, was also located at an area hospital; he had left the scene prior to Police arrival and responded to the hospital on his own. He is also in stable condition.

Detectives from the Major Case Squad, Crime Scene Unit, and Digital Forensics Unit responded to investigate this incident. It was determined that ALI had approached the first victim inside a business at 1 Palisade Avenue before exiting and slashing two other males outside.
City of Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano praised Yonkers Police Officers for their swift action in apprehending ALI, stating that their "skilled training, care, and concern" had kept residents safe during this isolated incident. Yonkers Police Department Commissioner Christopher Sapienza echoed these sentiments by thanking Officers for their "swift action" which put an end to this violent attack.
ALI has been charged with three counts of Assault 2nd and remains in custody pending arraignment in Yonkers Criminal Court this morning. It should be noted that booking charges are merely accusations until proven guilty in court.
