Yonkers, NY ~ Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, along with the Mayor's African American Advisory Board and the Mayor's Office of Constituent Services and Minority Affairs, will be hosting the annual MLK Community Breakfast on Monday, January 19, 2025. The event will take place from 9AM to 11AM at the Nepperhan Community Center located at 342 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers.

Co-sponsored by Yonkers Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy, Council Majority Whip Deana Norman, and Councilwoman Tasha Diaz, this year's theme is "Mission Possible 2." The breakfast aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and bring together members of the community for a morning of inspiration, community, and purpose.

Attendees can look forward to a delicious breakfast while listening to impactful speakers and connecting with others who are committed to making a difference in their community.

According to Mayor Spano, "Dr. King's vision of unity and justice continues to guide our community. His call for equality, compassion, and civic responsibility remains as urgent today as it was during the Civil Rights Movement." He also added that the MLK Breakfast is more than just a gathering but a moment for reflection, dialogue, and renewed commitment towards building a stronger and more inclusive Yonkers where every voice is valued and every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Due to limited seating, advance registration is required by January 16 at yonkersny.gov/mlkbreakfast. Each participant must register individually to ensure fair access for all community members.
