Performance Psychology Expert Joins Vince Butta on Moving America Forward to Reveal How Resilience, Emotional Intelligence and Followership Drive Success

NEW YORK - Nyenta -- Success is about more than talent. It requires the mindset, emotional resilience and self-awareness to perform under pressure, overcome adversity and inspire others. Dr. Rick Perea, PhD, internationally recognized performance psychologist, executive coach and founder of THINKONE, explores these principles in an upcoming episode of Moving America Forward, airing nationally on CNBC as sponsored programming on November 8.

In an engaging interview with host Vince Butta, Dr. Perea draws on his experience working with elite athletes, professional sports teams and corporate executives to explain how performance psychology can help individuals strengthen their decision-making, manage anxiety and reach their potential in high-pressure environments.

Dr. Perea's distinguished career includes work with major organizations such as Apple, Google and Ultimate Software, as well as professional sports teams including the Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets and the world champion Denver Broncos during the 2015–2016 period. His coaching experience also includes helping leaders develop more effective communication and leadership skills.

Unlike traditional clinical approaches, performance psychology emphasizes practical, evidence-based strategies that help people understand their thoughts, regulate their emotional responses and perform more effectively when the stakes are high.

His professional mission is deeply personal. After losing his brother to murder when he was just seven years old, Dr. Perea began a journey toward understanding human behavior and the emotional impact of adversity. Discovering psychology as a teenager helped shape the path that would ultimately become his life's work. Today, he uses those insights to encourage others to move beyond painful experiences and recognize their capacity for growth.

The discussion also challenges conventional ideas about leadership by examining the often-overlooked power of followership. Dr. Perea explains that effective leadership is not simply about giving direction; it requires understanding the motivations, perspectives and needs of the people who support a shared vision. The strongest leaders empower others to build confidence, take initiative and recognize their own ability to influence positive change.
