BRONX, N.Y. - Nyenta -- MORRIS PARK, BRONX — Haight Ave Bronx Farm will welcome families on Sunday, September 27, for a Pumpkin Pick & Paint event. Visitors can pick a mini pumpkin, paint it, play in the yard, and meet the farm's chickens and rabbits. Pumpkins are $5 each.

Haight Ave Bronx Farm is a small urban farm and community learning space in Morris Park, just outside Little Yemen. Founded by Jennifer Maddox Jimenez, a New York State certified teacher with 15 years of experience, the farm brings children and families together through food, animals, art, and hands-on learning. Its work centers justice- and system-impacted women and children, with a simple belief at its heart: Bronx young people are brilliant.

Sunday's event is a chance for neighbors to visit the farm and see what is growing there. It is also a moment of urgent need. Haight Ave Bronx Farm is seeking immediate sponsors to help cover rent and utilities and launch a fall workshop for local young people. Sponsors will help keep this neighborhood space available for free youth learning, climate education, and community connection.

Families, local businesses, and organizations are invited to attend the event or contact the farm about sponsorship. The $5 pumpkin activity and sponsorship are separate ways to support the farm.

Event: Pumpkin Pick & Paint
