Turkish American entrepreneur says Turkish products already fill American homes under other labels and urges exporters to use major U.S. trade shows, including those at New York's Javits Center, to support the $100 billion trade goal.

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Nyenta -- Israfil Demir, a Turkish American entrepreneur and community leader, today called on Turkish companies to exhibit at major U.S. trade shows and build their own brands in the American market. He said both steps are essential to reaching the $100 billion trade goal set by the governments of Türkiye and the United States. According to Demir, Turkish textiles, furniture, home goods, food products and auto parts are widely sold in the United States, but often under other companies' labels. "Most Americans can name only one Turkish brand, Turkish Airlines," Demir said. "Our products are already on American shelves. Now they need to carry our own name." Demir recommended that Turkish exporters adapt their products to U.S. standards, certifications, packaging and sizing, and invest in reliable delivery and English-language customer service. He named trade shows as the fastest way to enter the U.S. market and pointed to New York's Javits Center, which hosts events such as the NRF Big Show, the Summer Fancy Food Show, NY NOW, the New York International Auto Show and New York Comic Con. "In one week at the Javits Center, a Turkish company can meet buyers, distributors and media it might otherwise need years to reach," Demir said. Demir also noted that the close dialogue between the two countries' leaders and Türkiye's export support programs, including the Turquality branding program and support for international fair participation, provide a strong foundation for growth. "The policy door is open," he said. "Now it is up to our companies to walk through it." About Israfil Demir Israfil Demir is a Turkish American entrepreneur and community leader based in New Jersey. He is the founder of Techno City Inc. and has served in leadership roles with the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), MÜSİAD USA and the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI). He has long worked to strengthen business and community ties between Türkiye and the United States.
